★ The Wealthy Pilot Guy

About Scott Osborn

Independent, fiduciary financial advisor who works exclusively with airline pilots.

Built for Pilots

Pilot Wealth Planners was created for captains and first officers who want more than generic financial advice. After years of discipline, sacrifice, and responsibility in the cockpit, pilots deserve retirement guidance from someone who understands the career they have built and the decisions that come with it.

I help airline pilots make sense of the financial side of retirement: from benefits and long-term planning to the bigger picture of what comes next. My focus is simple: give pilots clear, experienced guidance so they can move toward retirement with confidence.

My Story

About Scott Osborn

Mr. Osborn is a graduate of the University of Toledo, where he received his degree in Engineering and Finance. In the midst of his studies, Scott recalls clearly the day his, and many of our, career paths changed forever: 9/11.

Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Army and later commissioned as an infantry officer. After completing his time in the best job ever, leading Soldiers in a year-long combat deployment in Afghanistan where he was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge and Bronze Star, Scott came home and decided it was time to dedicate his time and talents to his passion: financial advisory.

Scott got his start in 2013 as an independent retirement planner for high net-worth retirees in Northwest Ohio. He began serving high net-worth retirees, executives, and corporate executives for Fortune 500 companies. Working with many senior people, Scott got to learn the key planning items these highly successful people wished they would have done differently had they worked with a planner sooner.

Their hindsight became the key planning items that Scott uses as critical foresight when creating plans for pilots.

During his final assignment with the Army National Guard, Mr. Osborn moved to Northwest Ohio and was co-located with an Air National Guard Fighter Wing. Over the upcoming years, the pilots and Airmen would become good friends — raising their kids together, doing travel sports together, and eventually doing business together.

As these pilots grew in their careers and moved from the Air Guard to Delta Air Lines, he used his background as a corporate executive and retirement planner to master the ins and outs of retirement plans, 401(k)s, and benefits of larger commercial airline companies to help these individuals get their financial ducks in a row and build professional plans on par with the high standards these pilots live their lives by.

As Scott earned his MBA from The University of Notre Dame (GO IRISH!), he quickly became "The Wealthy Pilot Guy." His reach grew well beyond NW Ohio, and he now serves pilots in all legacy, cargo, and regional airlines across the United States.

On the personal side, his family also grew. He has 7 daughters (4 biological and 3 adopted from Hungary in 2023) and resides with his wife of over 22 years, Andrea. When he is not with his family or serving pilots, he is normally golfing with his family or pilots — and hopes you'll swing down to Toledo for a round the next time you have a layover in Detroit.
